Austin Studios, operated by the Austin Film Society, is a centrally located, 20-acre film production facility that consists of 10,000 square feet of production office space and 100,000 square feet of production space in five stages. We have areas for set construction, wardrobe, storage, and filming, in addition to acres of paved ares for parking trucks and trailers. With lots of space, world class on-site vendors, great local crews and actors, and beautiful locations in Austin and surrounding areas, Austin Studios provides a competitively priced production alternative to Los Angeles.
Our goal is to support Austin's film and digital industry by attracting national productions and by serving our local creative talent. We work with all budget levels and types of productions: feature film, television, commercial, music video, and digital video. Just a few of our credits include FRIDAY THE 13th, STOP-LOSS, GRINDHOUSE, MAN OF THE HOUSE, FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS, THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE, SECONDHAND LIONS, THE LIFE OF DAVID GALE, THE ROOKIE, and MISS CONGENIALITY. We've hosted photo shoots for Entertainment Weekly, Texas Monthly, and NBC Universal. Commercial productions include Bud Light, Nike, L'Oreal, and Hallmark.
"What I find impressive is the mixture of productions [Austin Studios have] brought in: Hollywood budget, low budget, no budget; 35mm, 16mm, HDTV; professionals, amateurs, students." Quentin Tarantino
